Since its founding in 2002 in San Diego, Label King has carved out a reputation for blending high quality, fast turnarounds, and customer-first service. Today the company is entering into its next phase of growth, and it has emerged as a Company to Watch.

In mid-2025, Label King announced a bold expansion into the Mountain West, opening a new facility in Salt Lake City, UT, USA. The new site is about 14,000 square feet – an operation featuring both flexographic and digital printing technologies. The move is more than geographic – it’s strategic. By establishing a presence in Utah, Label King is positioning itself to serve regional customers more responsively, reduce shipping times, and expand its growing customer base.

Leading the charge in Utah is Adam Peek, taking on the role of  “King of the Mountain.” Recognized in the industry for his “People of Packaging” podcast and keynote speaking engagements, Peek oversees sales, marketing, finance, and production at the Salt Lake City facility. Robert Parker, founder and CEO, emphasizes that the cultural alignment between Peek and Label King makes the Utah expansion feel like a natural extension of the company’s San Diego roots.

The Salt Lake City facility officially opened its doors with a grand opening and open house event on August 28, 2025, welcoming customers, employees, and local businesses for a full-day celebration. Attendees got more than a ribbon cutting. The festivities included facility tours, a barbecue lunch from local favorite Miss Essie’s BBQ, hands-on demos with a live label job for Utah-based brand Salsa Queen, and plenty of playful touches – retro Nintendo games, paper crowns, and even a throne made from corrugated board. Attendees also left with branded giveaways.

More than 60 people attended the event, a turnout that underscores Label King’s commitment to community, its people, and its customer-centric approach. The open house showed that Label King isn’t just expanding in square footage – it is bringing its community-focused, interactive spirit into a new market.

“Having local family-owned companies involved with the grand opening was really important to us,” says Peek. “We want the Utah community to know that we are here to support and service local brands and businesses of all kinds. The expansion of the Label Kingdom here will always be about people and creating great jobs for the Salt Lake City community.”

There are a number of things that make Label King one of the industry’s Companies to Watch. The first is its scalable infrastructure. With both digital and flexographic capabilities now spread across two strategic locations, the company is clearly building capacity, not just for growth but also for delivering regional speed and responsiveness. The Utah operation complements San Diego by opening up fresh opportunities in the Mountain West while reinforcing Label King’s reputation for quick turnarounds.

Equally important is the culture that drives the business. From Adam Peek’s tongue-in-cheek “King of the Mountain” title to the brand’s playful but professional web presence, Label King consistently invests in its people and community. The culture that has made the San Diego plant thrive is now embedded in the new Salt Lake City location, positioning the company to succeed on more than just operational metrics.

Label King also brings a track record of recognition to its expansion. The label converter has earned numerous awards from TLMI, PIA, and other organizations. In 2023, Robert Parker was named the TLMI Converter of the Year – an award given to a label company leader who demonstrates excellence in industry leadership, environmental stewardship, as well as fostering a diverse and
inclusive workforce.

Label King continues to execute on its customer-first mission. From the interactive approach at the open house to the hands-on production demos, the company is making it clear that its growth is designed to enhance the customer experience. That combination of technical capability and cultural connection sets Label King apart.

Parker says, “Being able to make such a quick impact in the Salt Lake City area has been amazing, and we’re looking forward to continuing our growth and helping the local community. I am truly excited about the future of Label King.”
